About the Role:

Kalmbach Feeds is seeking a passionate, hard-working API Integration Developer to join our IT Business Systems team. As we continue to grow, this role will focus on designing, developing, and maintaining API integrations between our ERP system (Sage X3), Warehouse Management System (Korber Warehouse Advantage), SaaS applications, and customer systems. You will play a key part in strategic projects that improve our processes and customer experience, supporting our rapid growth and commitment to service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain API integrations between ERP, WMS, SaaS applications, vender supplied on-prem applications, and customer systems. 
  • Build solutions for receiving customer orders and sending order acknowledgements, invoices, and advance shipment notices (ASNs) via API to a Value-Added Network (VAN), which will translate these to EDI formats for trading partners. 
  • Write code primarily in Python and PowerShell, working with JSON or XML-formatted files. 
  • Develop and execute test plans to validate API integrations to ensure reliability, accuracy, and security of data exchanges. Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and continuously improve integration quality
  • Develop familiarity with Sage X3 ERP and Warehouse Advantage data structures and tables over time. 
  • Monitor integration performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions. 
  • Collaborate with customers, key accounts, and IT staff to support integration projects and decision-making. 
  • Maintain clear documentation for integration designs, configurations, and processes. 
  • Ensure consistent, secure, and compliant data exchanges across all applications.

The Right Candidate:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 2–5 years of experience in API development or a similar role. 
  • Proven ability to understand business transactions and related data formats in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Proficiency in API design principles (REST, SOAP). 
  • Experience with Python and PowerShell for integration development. 
  • Familiarity with EDI concepts (e.g., ANSI X12) to support collaboration, but deep technical EDI expertise is not required. 
  • Understanding of data security and compliance best practices. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with ERP (especially Sage X3) and warehouse management systems (especially Warehouse Advantage).
