Position Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Software Engineer to join our team supporting mission-critical systems for a Federal customer at Fort Meade, MD. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in Java development and a strong desire to learn and grow within a highly secure, fast-paced environment. Working alongside senior developers and system engineers, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of reliable and scalable software solutions.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test, and maintain Java-based applications.
• Participate in all phases of the software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering and solution design.
• Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues.
• Support integration, testing, and deployment of applications within secure, classified environments.
• Assist in improving development processes, documentation, and coding standards.

Qualifications

Qualifications:
Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Experience
• 5–8 years of hands-on software development experience, preferably with Java.

Preferred

• Java certification or relevant academic coursework.

Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in Java programming.
• Understanding of object-oriented design principles and development.
• Familiarity with IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ IDEA.
• Basic understanding of secure coding practices, cybersecurity concepts, and federal IT standards.
• Ability to work under strict security protocols and within classified environments.

Additional Requirements

• Must hold an active Top Secret/SCI clearance with Polygraph.
• Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in team-oriented settings.
