Purpose of Position:
The Data Analyst will play a critical role in transforming how the Finance team leverages data, technology, and automation. Reporting to the Director of Finance Data & Analytics, this individual will not only build advanced reporting and automation solutions but also champion the adoption of modern tools such as Slack, Tableau, and emerging AI technologies. The ideal candidate combines strong technical skills with a passion for innovation and process improvement, helping the Finance team set the standard for technology-driven excellence across the bank.
Essential Job Functions:
1. Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline finance processes and reduce manual effort.
2. Identify and execute opportunities for efficiency gains through technology and AI-driven tools.
3. Build and maintain advanced financial reports, dashboards, and KPIs using Tableau and other BI tools.
4. Develop predictive models and trend analyses to support strategic decision-making.
5. Oversee data pipelines, including imports/exports, scheduled jobs, and data table maintenance.
6. Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across all systems.
7. Support the rollout and integration of new tools (e.g., Slack, Tableau, AI solutions) within Finance.
8. Train and guide team members to maximize adoption and usage of new technologies.
9. Partner with stakeholders across departments to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.
10. Communicate complex data findings in clear, business-friendly language.
11. Stay current on emerging technologies and best practices in data analytics and automation.
12. Proactively recommend and implement enhancements to existing processes and tools.
13. Maintain comprehensive documentation for all automation workflows, data processes, and reporting standards.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Science, or other related field
2. Proven experience in data analytics and process automation, preferably in the banking industry
3. Proficiency in data analysis tools/software (e.g., Excel, SQL) and BI tools (e.g., Tableau)
4. Experience with Axiom or other database reporting tools preferred
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
6. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders
7. Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
