Your Role at a Glance

The Business Development Analyst plays a critical role in driving strategic growth initiatives within the CAD/CAM, CNC software, and broader manufacturing/digitalization space. This position involves conducting market research, analyzing competitive trends, and supporting executive decision-making through data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will collaborate across multiple functions—including Product, Sales, Finance, and Legal—to identify opportunities, manage the business development pipeline, and deliver high-impact presentations to senior leadership.

How You’ll Drive Success

Market & Competitive Analysis

  • Conduct in-depth market sizing, trend analysis, and competitive intelligence in CAD/CAM, CNC software, and broader manufacturing/digitalization space.
  • Track competitor product releases, pricing changes, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and go-to-market strategies.

Executive Reporting & Presentation

  • Prepare high-quality materials (decks, memos, one-pagers) for executive leadership and board-level presentations.
  • Deliver clear, concise updates on deal progress, risks, and next steps.
  • Collaborate with Product, Sales, Finance, Legal, and sister Sandvik business units on strategic initiatives.

Pipeline & KPI Management

  • Maintain the business-development pipeline and stage-gate tracking.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) through dashboards.

The Talents We’re Seeking

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or related quantitative field. 
  • MBA or Master’s degree strongly preferred.
  • 4 - 5 years of experience in corporate strategy, corporate development, strategy consulting, private equity, or investment banking within software/SaaS.
  • Proven financial modeling experience preferred (M&A models, LBO, three-statement, pricing models).

Required Skills

  • Advanced Excel skills (complex models, Power Pivot, dynamic dashboards).
  • PowerPoint mastery for executive-level presentations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Comfortable presenting to senior leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and strong analytical mindset.

Preferred Skills

  • Strong understanding of software licensing models (perpetual, subscription, consumption-based) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software ecosystem a plus (e.g., Mastercam, Siemens NX, Autodesk Fusion, Vericut).
