As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking - Card Account Management team, you will be a seasoned member of an agile team, tasked with designing and delivering trusted, market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner. You will be responsible for implementing critical technology solutions across multiple technical domains, supporting various business functions to achieve the firm’s business objectives
Job responsibilities
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
- Experience in developing and maintaining applications using COBOL, DB2, CICS,IMS DC/DB ensuring robust and efficient mainframe solutions, and follow the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to ensure structured and efficient software development processes.
- Develop and manage CICS (Customer Information Control System) applications for transaction processing in mainframe environments .
- Knowledge on IMS (Information Management System) for hierarchical database management and transaction processing in mainframe environments.
- Design and optimize databases using DB2, ensuring data integrity, performance, and scalability.
- Deep knowledge on Schedule and monitor batch jobs using CA7, ensuring timely and efficient execution of critical business processes
- Hands on with VSAM (Virtual Storage Access Method) for efficient data storage and retrieval in mainframe environments.
- Experience with Change Man/Endeavor for version control and change management, supporting efficient deployment .
- Utilize REXX for scripting and automation, enhancing productivity and efficiency in mainframe operations.
- Implement ZOS Connect API for integrating mainframe applications with modern web and mobile applications.
- Manage source code and version control using GIT, facilitating collaborative development and code management.
