The opportunity

We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Underwriting Governance Analyst to join our North American Specialty Underwriting team located remotely nationwide. The Senior Underwriting Governance Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring underwriting practices align with corporate standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management strategies. This position supports the development, implementation, and monitoring of underwriting governance frameworks and provides expert guidance to underwriting teams across the organization. The role reports to the Underwriting Governance Manager but functions as an independent contributor with oversight provided by the manager. Some of the Senior Underwriting Governance Analyst responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide high-quality, professional day-to-day execution of North American Specialty Underwriting engagements.
  • Collaborate with Business Unit leadership to develop and execute audit plans, ensure timely completion, monitor corrective actions, and assess their effectiveness.
  • Perform in-charge responsibilities for designated audits including planning, testing, documentation, and reporting.
  • Draft audit reports detailing findings and recommendations.
  • Participate in communications and presentations to management during and after audits, discussing deficiencies and corrective actions.
  • Manage Letters of Authority for assigned Business Units and Segment Leaders.
  • Maintain and update Underwriting Guidelines for assigned Business Units.
  • Monitor personal performance to ensure plans and schedules are met, providing regular updates.
  • Share ideas and collaborate in a dynamic team environment to manage work inventories and deliver accurate, timely service aligned with corporate standards.
  • Conduct and/or participate in special projects or investigations as requested.

The expertise you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent related work experience required.
  • 5–7 years of related experience in the insurance industry.
  • Underwriting experience preferred.

Our salary ranges are determined by many factors including location, role, experience, and skillset of the candidate. The following ranges displayed reflect the target base salary for new hires, but your recruiter will share more specific compensation information with you during the hiring process. The typical base salary range for this position is: $82,000 – $115,000, based on the factors aforementioned. For candidates located in San Francisco, CA; Washington DC; our Massachusetts based offices and the New York City metro area, the base salary range is $103,000 -$121,000. In addition to base salary, full time Intact employees are also eligible for bonus potential and a full range of benefits to include but not limited to:
