The Enterprise Data Team is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join our team. In this high-impact role, you will be responsible for developing various data products (tables, dashboards, analysis) related to audience insights, identity resolution, and content performance for stakeholders across all divisions within Hearst Consumer Media. In addition, you will partner with our Product and Engineering teams to develop best-in-class data products, understand user behavior and measure business impact. The ideal candidate will possess an entrepreneurial ethos, proficiency in using data to deliver value, and a working knowledge of the current digital media landscape. This hybrid role is based in New York City and will report into the VP of Audience Analytics.
ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities
- Perform and Present Data Analysis: Lead the development and execution of data analyses across a diverse range of domains, from digital product performance, to understanding advertising effectiveness across media channels. Utilize data visualizations and presentations to effectively communicate these findings and the team's business impact to a diverse set of technical and executive stakeholders.
- Develop Scalable Data Products: Design, execute, and maintain robust data models and dashboards, leveraging first-party and third-party datasets to provide meaningful insights. Manage and oversee ongoing and ad hoc query development, actively working to formalize frequent requests into repeatable, scalable data products.
- Contribute to Identity Resolution and Audience Strategy: Develop, build, and maintain reports and dashboards to measure key performance indicators related to identity resolution efforts. Conduct detailed audience segmentation and analysis to inform targeting strategies and content optimization.
- Cultivate Cross-Functional Partnerships: Act as a trusted advisor, cultivating and strengthening relationships with data, product, and engineering leads across Hearst Consumer Media
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study
- 5-8 years of experience in a data role, including business intelligence, analytics, data science and/or data engineering
- Expert-level proficiency in SQL, with extensive experience in data mining and working with large-scale data warehouses (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery)
- Advanced skills in creating reports and dashboards with BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau) and translating insights into actionable recommendations
- Experience in developing, implementing, and utilizing identity and audience measurement solutions
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and storytelling abilities, with excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills. Proficiency in leveraging data visualizations effectively
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, lead cross-functional initiatives, and influence stakeholders at all levels
- Familiarity with the digital media and publishing landscape, including media research tools (e.g., Nielsen, Comscore) and knowledge of the CTV/digital advertising ecosystem, programmatic media, and cross-platform measurement.
Compensation and Benefits
In accordance with applicable law, Hearst is required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role if hired in New York City. The reasonable estimate, if hired in New York City, is USD $140,000 to $155,000/year. Please note this information is specific to those hired in New York City. For candidates outside New York City, the salary range will be aligned with the specific location. A final decision on the successful candidate’s starting salary will be based on a number of permissible, non-discriminatory factors, including but not limited to skills, experience, training, certifications, and education.
