Front End Developer

Wright Manufacturing, Inc. is a global commercial lawn mower manufacturer based in Frederick, MD. We design and build products from the ground up for our customers. We practice lean manufacturing and value innovation, craftsmanship, and teamwork.

We’re seeking a Front-End Developer to join our fast-moving, agile software team. You’ll help design, build, and maintain modern, responsive web applications that interface with our PHP-based API. You’ll start by collaborating on projects with our current developers and then transition into owning individual projects as your experience grows. In our environment we use   

Vanilla JS and Vue.js Front-End with some legacy jQuery, 10+ Linux servers, LAMP Stack (PHP) back-end, 20 custom-built APIs, custom internal and external systems.  

Our standard schedule is  Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.  This is primarily an onsite role.

You should be organized, creative, and comfortable working in a small, dynamic team environment. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, ready to solve problems, and willing to think outside the box.

We value hands-on learning and real-world experience. In our view, practical experience can be just as valuable than formal education. While a degree is not required, we do ask candidates to explain how they’ve developed their skills. Self-taught developers, including those who have learned through online academies or independent study, are welcome. Candidates with formal education in Software Development, Web Development/Design, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related degree are also welcome.

Skills/Abilities

- Required

o HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern frontend framework

o Working knowledge of APIs and JSON data

o Strong communication and collaboration skills

- Preferred

o Vue.js

o Node.js fundamentals

o git (specifically GitLab)

o UI/UX Design

o TypeScript, HandsOnTable, D3.js

Salary: $60,000-$80,000 + Depending on qualifications
