Job Purpose 

The Commodity Analyst provides strategic sourcing and procurement support to the overall organization. This roll will monitor market trends, evaluate supplier performance and provide data-driven insights to optimize business partnerships, ensure supply continuity and achieve the required performance in cost, quality and service. 


Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and execution of strategies for commodities using Total Best Cost approach and supply base risk assessments. 
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of market conditions, trends, sources of supply and supplier capabilities for materials.
  • Identify and lead cost saving and value-engineering initiatives through cross-functional alignment and support.
  • Execute and support RFP/RFQ processes to ensure competitive and high performing supply base. 
  • Facilitate supplier communications for performance reviews, issue escalations and ongoing improvement initiatives.
  • Participate and be responsible for early engagement with Engineering on all new programs.
  • Support the development and deployment of standard processes and best practices across the organization.
  • Provide analytical support for Procurement related projects and initiatives as requested.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned. 
Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proficient with Excel, data visualization tools, and ERP systems.
  • Knowledge of supply chain principles, market economics, and sourcing strategies.
  • Excellent project management, written and oral communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 
  • Action-oriented self-starter able to work through ambiguous and complex situations, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Operations, Engineering, Business or related field. 
  • 3-5 years of experience in commodity analysis, supply chain, procurement, financial analysis, or related fields preferred. 
  • Able to interpret technical data such as specifications, drawings and bills-of-material

Travel


20% travel expected for this position within the United States and internationally.

Work Environment


This job operates in a professional office and occasionally a shop environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Working in a shop environment requires the use of safety personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, and steel toed safety shoes. 

Salary Description
$75,000 - $90,000 per year
