Description

The Oracle Government, Defense, and Intelligence organization is looking for a technically proficient Cloud Services Developer with experience in designing, developing, configuring, optimizing and maintaining applications and services that run on a cloud platform such as Oracle Cloud, AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Bonus if the experience is with Oracle Cloud technologies! The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who loves thinking outside the box to solve challenging problems.  The candidate will have a strong developer background, hands-on experience with cloud-native services, and the ability to deliver quality results addressing mission-critical customer needs. 

Must currently hold and have the ability to maintain a TS/SCI with Poly.

 

This role is a full-time, in-person position, primarily based in the office with occasional visits to client sites. We are seeking candidates who reside in the Virginia/Washington DC region.

 

 



Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the deployment of deliverables on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) using cloud-native services (Kubernetes, Containers, Docker, REST APIs, etc.)
  • Develop code bases as may be required to support the deliverable using languages such as Linux, Java, SQL, Python, etc.
  • Participate in various stages of the software development life cycle (SDLC), applying best practices to programming efforts.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests using JUnit or similar testing frameworks as part of the secure coding and deployment process.
  • Monitor and optimize service performance, reliability, and security in the cloud environment.
  •  Implement security best practices (e.g., identity management, encryption) and ensure compliance with organizational and legal standards.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to deliver, on-schedule, assigned technical tasks and activities.
  • Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn new tools, frameworks, and technologies.

Required Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience in software development or engineering, with a focus on technology and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency / applied experience in one or more programming languages (e.g. Java, Python, or SQL; Linux is a must).
  • Ability to apply software testing concepts and practical experience with JUnit or similar testing frameworks to ensure code quality.
  • Experience in cloud computing concepts, preferably related to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and cloud-native services (Kubernetes, REST APIs, Containers).
  • Interest in Agile methodologies and collaborative development.
  • Demonstrated eagerness for continuous learning and professional growth.
  • Keen understanding and respect for need to know.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree(s) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or Computer Engineering
  • Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) fundamentals, pursuing OCI certification or already in possession of OCI Certification (eg. OCI Foundations).
  • Experience (coursework, projects, or internships) using Oracle RDBMS or similar databases is a plus
  • Experience in or willingness to learn middleware technologies (e.g., WebLogic, JBoss, Apache Tomcat) on various platforms is a plus.
  • Coursework or basic training in Oracle Visual Builder Studio, Oracle Application Express (APEX), or similar cloud development tools.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $87,000 to $178,100 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
