General Position Summary:

The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for analyzing complex business problems and driving initiative completions. This role is driven by the need to set up and maintain automation and operational efficiency across systems and processes. You will partner with stakeholders across departments to understand their challenges, analyze data flows, and identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization. You will translate business goals into actionable requirements in IT, systems, and reporting, ensuring that developed solutions align with strategic objectives. This role is responsible for ensuring system compliance with HIPAA, HITECH, 42 CFR Part 2, and other applicable regulatory requirements.


The Business Systems Analyst enjoys solving complex problems and thinks carefully before acting. They look at every possible outcome and look for concrete research before forming opinions. They are adaptable and quickly respond to changes in their environment, making them fast learners. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough business process analysis: Identify inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities in current IT systems, applications, and processes.
  • Gather and document business requirements: Collaborate with stakeholders to clearly define functional and technical requirements for new or existing IT initiatives. Draft statistical reports that assist decision-makers
  • Develop solution roadmaps and cost-benefit analyses: Analyze available options and recommend the most effective solutions based on feasibility, impact, and resource constraints.
  • Design and produce ongoing reports and other documentation of data outcomes and data analytics based on business needs.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements in relation to data process.
  • Manage and prioritize projects: Utilize project management/Agile methodologies to ensure deliverables are met on time and within budget.
  • Communicate effectively: Translate technical concepts into clear and concise language for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stay current with industry trends: Actively research and evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact on business operations.

Essential Skills

  • Working knowledge of software design and development
  • Thorough knowledge of HIPAA regulations, including the Privacy Rule, Security Rule, and Breach Notification Rule
  • Proficient in the management and analysis of health data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.

Requirements

Acceptable Experience and/or Education and Training:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or related role
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Proficient in database functionality and data dashboards (Power BI, Tableau, Zoho Analytics or a similar data dashboard system)
  • Familiarity/experience with Agile/Scrum framework
  • Familiarity/experience with Zoho

This position is currently a hybrid position, with the requirement of working in the office at least 2 days per week.
